BILL YOST MEMORIAL MVP

Coach Bill Yost coaches football and wrestling for 45 years. Coach Yost took pride as a coach and math teacher in driving kids to reach their full potential. He enjoyed devoting his time, energy, and love to coaching. These are qualities that contribute to on field success - putting everything in to your performance, your team, and your community.

JONATHAN HAYES IRONMAN AWARD

 

Jonathan Hayes graduated from South Fayette in 1982 and was recruited to the University of Iowa and played linebacker as a freshman before switching to Tight End as a sophomore. After an All-American junior season, Hayes was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals and played in the NFL from 1985-1996 before entering his coaching career.

 

Given to the player who excelled throughout the offseason strength program. His work ethic off the field allowed him to contribute on the field on both sides of the ball – the teams Iron Man.

NICK FARACI TRENCH TROPHY

Given to the MVP of the OL/DL. Regardless of recognition, these players drive the success of the team and this player is the heartbeat of the power group.  Nick Farci is arguably the best Offensive lineman to play for the Lions. He did receive the recognition of his team in college earning All America honors as well as Offensive MVP for the Robert Morris Colonials.

JUSTIN WATSON STUDENT-ATHLETE AWARD

Justin Watson was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 5th round of the 2018 NFL Draft and is currently thriving in an NFL career that includes three super bowl rings and counting. More importantly, Justin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Business School in four years – one of the most prestigious in the country. A top tier athlete and top tier student are not mutually exclusive and Justin Watson embodies that expectation of the South Fayette Football program.

JOE ROSSI COMMUNITY EXCELLENCE AWARD

Given to the player who contributes on and off the field and is respected by all through his hard work, empathy and commitment to the South Fayette Community. It is well documented the success of Coach Rossi on the field but his contributions to the development and growth of the South Fayette community is unprecedented.
